December 8: Irwin Brewing: Maddy O'Neal- Crested Butte Public House -8-11 p.m. -The vibe and soul of the Maddy O’Neal project combines soundscapes from all across the spectrum of genres…Rich in texture and atmosphere, her roots in funk and soul shine through in a bed of low end frequencies making for a unique environment for future bass and synth design to tie it all together. Hailing from Denver, Colorado you can hear the direct electro soul inspiration sprinkled in her productions but she has managed to carve out her own unique lane within the bass community. 

Dec. 8 = Sense of Place at the Center for the Arts, 5-7 p.m.-Join us for the opening reception of our Sense of Place show on December 8, 5 – 7pm to celebrate the participating artists.

December 9: Pinnacle Orthopedics Community Race Series : 9:30-11:30 a.m.-The CB Nordic and Pinnacle Orthopedics Community Races are a fun way to get outside, get some exercise, meet new people, and challenge yourself. Each week is a different format with races ranging from 5K to 15K – and a 3k kids’ race. Accumulate points for each race you complete. The skier with the most points at the end will be crowned the series champion.

December 14-23: Dashing Thru the Snow- Crested Butte Mountain Theater- The Southern-Fried Christmas Comedy!

December 15/16: Nutcracker Ballet - 7-9 p.m. Center for the Arts-The Nutcracker, but make it CB! Following the classic storyline of Clara’s adventures, this interpretation of the Nutcracker by the Crested Butte School of Dance will feature dancers of all ages and music from a variety of styles.

December 16: Santa night-Crested Butte Museum-Join us at the museum store to visit with Santa, decorate cookies, and make ornaments from 4pm – 6pm.  Our gift store is open and stocked with lots of goodies for the holiday season.  This is a free event for all, no pre-registration is required

Dec. 21 - Play With Art -Trailhead Children's Museum: 9-12:45 a.m. 3-6 yrs old - Sometimes it’s about the journey, not the destination. Join us in this half-day program to explore art through play, by getting hands on with unique and familiar materials, free form creation, getting messy, and of course; having FUN!

Dec. 22-Live at the Center: Colorado Brass Holiday Concert-7-9 pm-A quintet from the Colorado Brass comes to CB on December 22 for some rousing holiday favorites! Bring the whole family to hear the bright sounds of the season echo through the halls.Colorado Brass is the state’s premier British-style brass band. The ensemble is comprised of thirty brass players and percussionists from all over Colorado. Members come to the band as professional musicians, music educators, students, and brass band enthusiasts. For this event, five brass players and a percussionist from the ranks of the Colorado Brass join us for the holidays!

December 21,22,23,26,28,29,30,31- Yurt Dinners -When the full moon rises, the Magic Meadows turn into a luminescent wonderland, with our back-country yurt nestled right in the middle.  There, you can enjoy one of our gourmet yurt dinners; a five course meal in a spectacular setting. All are sold out but Dec. 21 and 22.

December 28 = Polka Party - CB Museum from 5-7 p.m.; 331 Elk Ave.-Join us at the museum with Pete Dunda on the accordion to show off your best polka skills on December 28th from 5pm-7pm, festive outfits are encouraged! We will also be drawing winners for our HOLIDAY HISTORY RAFFLE tonight at 7pm!

December 30 = Public House Presents: Tenth Mountain Division - 9-12 p.m.-Public House presents Tenth Mountain Division with special guest Dad Grass.
Born in the fertile mountains of Colorado, Tenth Mountain Division is continuing the musical legacy set down by their forefathers.
Tenth Mountain Division is a Denver-based outfit by way of the Colorado Rockies. The group consists of six members—Andrew Cooney (Bass/Guitar), Campbell Thomas (Piano/Percussion/Keys), Tyler Gwynn (Drums), MJ Ouimette (Guitars), Winston Heuga (Mandolin)—who found unity through their love of music and natural surroundings. While Gwynn holds down the heartbeat of their sound on drums, the rest of the crew pitches in on vocals in addition to their menagerie of instrumentation. TMD has heavily toured throughout their home state, offering reverberation and acclaim felt throughout the country. This helped nab performances at Summer Camp Music Festival, and support roles for acts like Leftover Salmon.

December 31 - New Year's Eve Torchlight Parade!

Watch from the upstairs deck at Butte 66 as Crested Butte's finest ski and snowboard instructors wind their way down the mountain during the torchlight parade. The fireworks show will start as the first instructors make their way into the base area. The best viewing area of the evening will be from the base area of the mountain on the Butte 66 deck.
