February 3 = Kikkan 7-8:30 p.m. Center for the Arts-Olympic Champion, Cancer Survivor, and Active Mom-From her debut in Salt Lake City to a decisive sprint finish in Pyeongchang, Kikkan Randall defined her career through Olympic aspirations. Straight from her gold-medal performance to a cancer diagnosis, she barely had a chance to catch her breath before finding herself navigating life as a single mother. The film, KIKKAN, chronicles the life of the 5-time Olympian from childhood through her US Ski career to her return to Alaska.

 

February 3 = First Friday Family Film-1:30-4 pm- Join us on the First Friday of Every Month for free Kids Movie at the Crested Butte Library!
We encourage you to bring pillows, blankets, sleeping bags, or whatever you need to make yourselves comfortable, to watch a movie upstairs at the library, “sleepover style.”
EVERYONE is invited; children must be 9 years old to attend without an adult.

 

February 3 = 38th Annual Alley Loop Nordic Marathon!

The Alley Loop is not your typical Nordic Marathon. Not only a premier nordic race and an American Birkebeiner Qualifier, it’s also Crested Butte’s best costume party of the year.  The course winds its way through snow-laden streets, alleyways and narrow bridges through the heart of downtown Crested Butte.  At any given time you may be cheered-on by town revelers, find yourself surrounded by Oompa Loompas, or navigating a crazy costume train assemblage…  Racers are sometimes forced into making daring passes and depending on their luck, may even get waylaid on a bridge for a brief moment.  Once you make it through town, you are rewarded by pristine tracks and exhilarating vistas throughout the Crested Butte Nordic trail network.

February 8 = Martin Sexton at the Center for the Arts - 7-10 p.m.-Martin Sexton returns with what RollingStone calls his “soul-marinated voice,” acoustic guitar, and a suitcase full of heartfelt songs. 

 

February 9 = Eddie Roberts and the Lucky Stokes - Irwin Brewing 9:00 p.m.- doors open at 8 p.m. - Eddie Robert & The Lucky Strokes are back in Crested Butte with the Natural Selection Tour-
If luck is what happens when hard work meets opportunity, the union of Eddie Roberts & The Lucky Strokes epitomizes that adage. The New Mastersounds’ guitarist and bandleader has a knack for leaning into individual strengths and that sensibility is evidenced through his recruitment of Mississippi-based guitarist and vocalist, Shelby Kemp, who brings a Southern rock grit and candid, nimble songwriting to team up with the Tampa Bay-based Galbraith sisters who possess a simpatico rhythm section chemistry only found within a family bloodline.

Convene at 5 at the Nordic Center! 6-11 p.m. When the full moon rises, the Magic Meadows turn into a luminescent wonderland, with our back-country yurt nestled right in the middle.  There, you can enjoy one of our gourmet yurt dinners; a five course meal in a spectacular setting.

Location: Our Magic Meadows yurt is located approximately one mile from the “gronk”, just north of Peanut Lake, on the Nordic Trail System. The trailhead is on Peanut Lake Road, with parking and trailhead signs accessing our groomed Nordic Trail System. Skis or snowshoes and trail passes are required to reach the yurt. Walking and biking are prohibited on these Nordic trails. The yurt is located on the Inner Magic Meadows Trails which are accessed by the Beaver Trail and the Peanut Lake Trail to the South, or the Pooches Paradise trail to the North. All trails are marked

gothic mountain tourFeb. 18 = Gothic Mountain Tour-The Gothic Mountain Tour is a 22 mile backcountry ski event that circumnavigates Gothic Mountain with an accumulated vert of 5,000 feet and finish party at the Magic Meadows Yurt. This is a fantastic training tour for the Grand Traverse and offers participants two class options; a competitive and a recreational category with slightly different route distances and start times.

 

 

Feb. 18 = Dirtwire : The Four-Irwin Brewing Company’s Public House
202 Elk Ave, Crested Butte, CO. Dirtwire stands poised between ancient Mother Earth and modern technology, a blend of ethnomusicology and the psychedelic trance state, gut-bucket delta blues and what the band variously dubs “back-porch space cowboy blues, swamptronica, and electro-twang.”

 

Feb. 18 = Gothic Mountain-620 2nd St, Crested Butte, CO-A pinnacle ski mountaineering race circumnavigating Gothic Mountain in the Crested Butte backcountry.

Not only does A Bar Above have the best selection of cocktails, wine, beer, and spirits, but every night this winter there’s FREE live music. Located in the ski base area right next to the bus stop, they’ve also got a great food menu with farm-to-table ingredients.

The IFSA represents the interests of athletes and allows them to have a voice in their sport. We strive to provide athletes international recognition vital to the growth of our sport through events and media. The rules and standards of competition shall be enforced by the IFSA in cooperation with promoters, organizers, athletes, volunteers, and officials. The IFSA reserves the right to amend, add to or change the official guidelines of competition at any point in time.
Event sanctioning is required for athlete's points to be included in their IFSA/FWQ ranking.
