February 3 = Kikkan 7-8:30 p.m. Center for the Arts-Olympic Champion, Cancer Survivor, and Active Mom-From her debut in Salt Lake City to a decisive sprint finish in Pyeongchang, Kikkan Randall defined her career through Olympic aspirations. Straight from her gold-medal performance to a cancer diagnosis, she barely had a chance to catch her breath before finding herself navigating life as a single mother. The film, KIKKAN, chronicles the life of the 5-time Olympian from childhood through her US Ski career to her return to Alaska.

February 3 = 38th Annual Alley Loop Nordic Marathon! The Alley Loop is not your typical Nordic Marathon. Not only a premier nordic race and an American Birkebeiner Qualifier, it’s also Crested Butte’s best costume party of the year. The course winds its way through snow-laden streets, alleyways and narrow bridges through the heart of downtown Crested Butte. At any given time you may be cheered-on by town revelers, find yourself surrounded by Oompa Loompas, or navigating a crazy costume train assemblage… Racers are sometimes forced into making daring passes and depending on their luck, may even get waylaid on a bridge for a brief moment. Once you make it through town, you are rewarded by pristine tracks and exhilarating vistas throughout the Crested Butte Nordic trail network.

Instead of leaving them on dog-eared pages, he projects them widescreen in flashes of simmering soul and folk eloquence.

Feb. 13, 2024- MARDI GRAS PARADE- downtown Crested Butte 4:00 p.m. The annual Fat Tuesday – Mardi Gras parade takes place along Elk Avenue in downtown Crested Butte. This Mardi Gras celebration is always a good time! Whether viewing the action from the sidelines of Elk Avenue, or riding on one of the wacky floats in the parade, this is a classic CB event for all ages that is not to be missed.

Feb. 18 = Gothic Mountain Tour-The Gothic Mountain Tour is a 22 mile backcountry ski event that circumnavigates Gothic Mountain with an accumulated vert of 5,000 feet and finish party at the Magic Meadows Yurt. This is a fantastic training tour for the Grand Traverse and offers participants two class options; a competitive and a recreational category with slightly different route distances and start times.
