Expect funky, fun and good-natured laughter as people line Crested Butte's Elk Avenue at least four deep to take in the spectacle of the July 4th parade. Stick around downtown for live music, a food court, face painting  and old-fashioned games. The 2nd Annual Slip & Slide Party/BBQ is happing! Come out for the best party of the summer. Get ready to slip, slide and BBQ. Please bring beverages and items to grill.

Crested Butte Visitors Center parking lot- 601 Elk AveCrested Butte -An early season favorite. HCCA has recommended Cement Creek for guaranteed instream flows. After the uphill section and traverse, we’ll finish the hike along a stretch of creek to admire its rushing waters and importance in the ecosystem.

July 5 = Art Camp-Harry Potter Day- 140 Blackstock Dr. Crested Butte-Jump into the magical world of Harry Potter. Kids get their hogwarts letter and must prepare for the first year of school. They will make their own wands, spell books and more!

July 7-16-Crested Butte Wildflower Festival, Crested Butte

The mission of the Crested Butte Wildflower Festival is to advocate for the preservation and appreciation of wildflowers. 

This festival began in 1986 through the efforts of a few insightful Crested Butte locals who envisioned a wildflower celebration in one of the most picturesque valleys in Colorado. The Festival has grown into a summer-long season of events with over 300 events offered by over 60 instructors, tour guides and volunteers.

Come to Crested Butte to enjoy the beautiful scenery and don’t forget to bring your camera!! Throughout the festival, there will be an array of activities to please everyone. You can choose from 4x4 & van tours, hikes, art classes, birding & butterflies, botany & medicinal lectures, edibles, garden tours, walks, photography classes and much more!

July 7 = STEM Camp - Taking Flight- 61 Teocalli Rd.-Kids will learn about aeronautics by making their very own drone and seeing how it can fly. They will also participate in a paper airplane launching competition using all cool knowledge of flight. Ages 7-10.
