June 1-3 - Tiger Be Still at the Crested Butte Mountain Theater! -

Tigers Be Still is a sardonic comedy that tackles mental health and relationships in modern life. The perpetuallly intoxicated Grace offers a comedic powerhouse role balanced by her sister, the more grounded but also messy Sherry. Director Kristen Joyce and Assistant Director Mary Tuck bring the first show of the season to the Mallardi Cabaret Theatre.

June 2 = First Friday Family Film-Join us on the First Friday of Every Month for free Kids Movie at the Crested Butte Library! 6:30 p.m.
We encourage you to bring pillows, blankets, sleeping bags, or whatever you need to make yourselves comfortable, to watch a movie upstairs at the library, “sleepover style.”
EVERYONE is invited; children must be 9 years old to attend without an adult.

June 3 = Oh Be Joyful Race-A big snow year means a big kayaking season! The epic winter in Crested Butte is bringing the flows for the 2023 Oh Be Joyful Race!

June 4= Snodgrass Trail Run--Snodgrass Washington Gulch Trail Head Crested Butte, CO.-
Course: An out and back run on the Snodgrass trail through aspen groves and with nice views of Crested Butte mountain from Washington Gulch to just short of the Gothic road. Distance: Up to 6 miles, all on single track trail. Runners can turn around at any point.

June 4,11,18,25- Crested Butte Farmers' Market, Elk Ave and 1st Street, between 10 a.m. and 2 pm. Senior hour is 9-10 a.m.

June 9-20 = Mountain Town -- Oh Be Joyful Gallery-“Mountain Town” is a group exhibition featuring pieces made either by our local artists, or featuring scenes found in and around mountain towns just like Crested Butte. From town to the trails, this exhibition will have a little something for everyone.
Confirmed participating artists include: Shelby Keefe, Ivy Kim, Cheryl Browder, Peggy Morgan Stenmark, Nicholas Reti, Jerry Markham, and Phil Starke.

June 10 Opening Day: Adventure Park, Evolution Bike Park, Zip Lines & Lifts

Mountain bikers rejoice as the Evolution Bike Park opens for the summer season, lift-accessed hiking begins and the Adventure Park opens!

Hikers utilize either lift for access to astonishing views and trails. Bikers can utilize the bike load on the Red Lady Express lift to transport their bikes up and save the legs for the downhill.

June 10 = Riders of the Sage -Meet at Murph's Camp 4 at 8:30 AM to fuel up for the ride. We'll briefly ride up Ohio Creek Road before hitting the gravel and touring a 1500 vertical feet uphill on a low-grade gravel road. At each site, guest speakers will discuss the specific wet meadow restoration project and the benefits that this type of ecosystem restoration brings to water, wildlife, communities, and the landscape.
The ride is just over 20 miles and is suitable for lower-intermediate riders and up. Because this tour is on gravel, skinny-tire road bikes will not be suitable, and travel will be really not fun.

Jen Korte blew into Colorado from Austin, Texas in 2005.  She came guided by the momentum of Americana and Caribbean rhythms, a prowess for distinctively intricate guitar lines, and the grit and power of a Western storm in her voice.  Since forming her Denver-based band, The Loss, Korte has been mesmerizing audiences at festivals and concerts across Colorado, for over 15 years.

We are enthusiastically planning what will once again be the BIGGEST KIDS’ BIKE PARTY ON THE PLANET!  We can’t wait to see you in Crested Butte to celebrate kids on bikes!  Junior Bike Week is the PREMIER family-friendly mountain bike festival and we’re STOKED to be hosting this event since 2016!!

June 28 = STEM camp- Heat in Color- Kids will explore the concept of thermodynamics and how thermodynamic reactions are present all around us. First they will use special thermochromic pigment to make slime that changes color in response to changes in temperature. In a controlled setting with Mrs. Ally they will also get to see how different elements from the periodic table effect the color of fire. 11-14 years

June 29 = Lakes Trek- 4-day, 3-night, all-inclusive, lightweight backpacking trip-4-day, 3-night, all-inclusive, lightweight backpacking tripThe Lakes Trek is a near perfect northbound traverse of the West Elk Wilderness (WEW).
The journey begins at Rainbow Lake, near Blue Mesa Reservoir in the south, and ends at Lost Lake Slough, about 30 trail miles north.
Our route slices right through the heart of this special wilderness area, and does not exceed 11,600ft in elevation, making it a friendly adventure with very little exposure.
If your dream is to bask amid multitudes of wildflowers and become totally engrossed in nature, this is the trip for you.
