Roman is originally from northern Virginia, but moved to Colorado in 1996. After he earned his tourism degree from Colorado State University, he moved to Steamboat where he got really serious about skiing. Steamboat was also where he first came across a new ski and snowboard rental delivery service called Black Tie Ski Rentals.

After 2 years of working for Black Tie co-founders Ian Prichard and Joe Sternberg, he decided to open up his own Black Tie Ski Rentals branch. The first time he visited Crested Butte in 2005, he knwew it was the place he wanted to put down roots. He loved its small size, welcoming community, seemingly endless open space, and tremendous skiing and riding opportunities.

He opened the doors of Black Tie Ski Rentals in the winter of 2005 and from Day One his staff and he have continually tried to win over winter vacationers by delivering ski and snowboard rentals efficiently and at a fair price. Our customer serivce focus continues as we start our 11th year in operation here in Crested Butte.
