Jan. all sold out- Yurt Dinner -Dinners at the Magic Meadows Yurt are a magical experience. You’ll ski or snowshoe out to the yurt surrounded by majestic, snow-covered peaks. Nestled among the pines, the yurt welcomes you in with a roaring fire and welcoming staff. You’ll enjoy gourmet dishes prepared by private chef Tim Egelhoff and a selection of fine beverages, including wines, beers, and Montanya Rum cocktails. At the end of the evening, you’ll make your way back to the trailhead beneath a spectacular sky of stars, and maybe even a full moon. This is truly an evening never to be forgotten.

Yurt Sunday Brunch- Jan 5, 12,19,26--Welcome to the Backcountry Bistro
Everybody’s favorite Bistro returns to Magic Meadows this season, serving up organic and gluten-free pastries, treats, teas, chai, fruit and soup, plus local coffee, delicious pie and festive, refreshing libations with a warm fire, sunny deck and weekly specials.
Location: Our Magic Meadows yurt is located approximately one mile from the “gronk”, just north of Peanut Lake, on the Nordic Trail System. The trailhead is on Peanut Lake Road, with parking and trailhead signs accessing our groomed Nordic Trail System. Skis or snowshoes and trail passes are required to reach the yurt. Walking and biking are prohibited on these Nordic trails. The yurt is located on the Inner Magic Meadows Trails which are accessed by the Beaver Trail and the Peanut Lake Trail to the South, or the Pooches Paradise trail to the North. All trails are marked.

Jan 3 = First Friday Family Film - 6:30-9:00 p.m. Crested Butte Library-Join us on the First Friday of Every Month for free Kids Movie at the Crested Butte Library! We encourage you to bring pillows, blankets, sleeping bags, or whatever you need to make yourselves comfortable, to watch a movie upstairs at the library, “sleepover style.” EVERYONE is invited; children must be 9 years old to attend without an adult. 504 Maroon Ave.

Each week is a different format and location, with races ranging from 5 km to 20 km – and a 1 km and 3 km kids’ race. Receive points for each race and compete towards overall prizes at the end of the series.

The Infamous Stringdusters are a celebrated American progressive bluegrass band known for their virtuosic musicianship, innovative arrangements, and genre-blending style. The GRAMMY® Award-winning Americana quintet—Andy Falco [guitar], Chris Pandolfi [banjo], Andy Hall [dobro], Jeremy Garrett [fiddle], and Travis Book [double bass]—have musical influences that truly run the gamut, but their common denominator is certainly bluegrass— the sound that has in essence defined the course of their career.
The Infamous Stringdusters stand out as the rare group who can team up with contemporary artists on late night television one night and headline the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre the next, and have recently emerged as proprietors behind their newly found independent record label, Americana Vibes.

Jan 25 = Ten Years Gone Led Zeppelin--Celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Fat Bike World Championships with a night of epic music at the Crested Butte Center for the Arts! Earlier in the day, witness the action and energy of the Fat Bike World Championship Race—a thrilling event that brings elite competitors and fun-loving racers together for a day of high-stakes laps and camaraderie in Crested Butte’s snowy playground. Whether you’re there to cheer on the riders or take on the course yourself, this milestone event is a testament to the adventurous spirit of fat biking and Crested Butte’s legacy as the birthplace of the Fat Bike Worlds.
Following the championship races, the afterparty heats up with Ten Years Gone – A Led Zeppelin Tribute, delivering an authentic recreation of one of rock’s most legendary bands. From iconic hits like “Stairway to Heaven” and “Whole Lotta Love” to deep cuts and acoustic masterpieces, Ten Years Gone brings the full Led Zeppelin experience to life. Alpenphunk is where world-class music meets Crested Butte’s vibrant mountain culture, creating an unforgettable weekend of sound, skiing, and once-in-a-lifetime collaborations.
Antibalas, a Brooklyn-based musical collective, was founded in 1997 by Martín Perna, with members from the Soul Providers/Dap Kings band. The group debuted in May 1998 and soon after, Amayo, a Lagos native and afrobeat enthusiast, joined as lead vocalist. Initially performing in alternative spaces, they gained a residency at NoMoore in Tribeca, expanding their repertoire with three long sets every week.
Jan 31- Feb 1= 39th Annual Alley Loop Nordic Marathon-Last day to register is Friday at the Expo! There will be no day of registration.-The Alley Loop is not your typical Nordic Marathon… It stands both as a premier American Birkebeiner Qualifying event, in addition to being Crested Butte’s most outrageous costume party of the year! The course winds its way through snowy streets, alleyways and narrow bridges through the heart of downtown Crested Butte. You’ll find yourself cheered by town revelers as you navigate a crazy gliding costume assemblage… Racers are sometimes forced into making daring passes and depending on their luck, may even get waylaid on a bridge for a moment. Once you make it through town, you are rewarded by pristine tracks and exhilarating vistas throughout the Crested Butte Nordic trail network.
If you like normal, you may want to look for another race. If you are up for anything… this is right up your alley!
